Song Duet

The Song Skirt and Song Top together create the Song Duet. Both garments were created using fabric waste. View and try on this fabulous set at the WALKlightly shop in Christchurch.

Rescued Textiles

The Song Duet was inspired by Korean cultural garments. Playing with fibre offcuts to cascade across the body, The Song Top is an innovation of harmony and blues–reminiscent of a Korean warrior in armour serenading in meditative art song. The selvedge of the cloth provides a descant invoking fascination and felicity. The hanbok style skirt, known as a chima, was the catalyst for this floral, wrap-around frock.

Song Skirt

Textiles for The Song Skirt were sourced from industry offcuts paired with vintage fabric saved from an estate fabric collection over 20 years ago. The handbok style provides maximum wearability and comfort.

The Song Duet

This harmonising duo is truly an inspiration to wear and to see. Confidence is carried into any setting, work to weekend, as the feminine warrior that inspired the design.

Song Top

Created from local industry textile waste, selvedges from the original scraps build interest and accentuate the form. The Song Top can be worn open or closed and pairs well over a dress or with dress slacks.
