Aletheia sizing is thoughtfully created to reflect a beautiful proportion, particularly catered for the pear-shaped woman. If further customisation is needed, garments can be made to your measurements–it’s what Aletheia Apparel is all about!

Measuring for your best fit:

  • While measuring, the tape should be parallel to the floor all the way around.
  • Pull the tape firm but without cinching in at the body.

Upper Bust: Measure around your body above the bust and under the arms. Measure without a bra, over skin. This is the best measurement for dresses and tops.

Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust. Measure with the type of bra you intend to wear under the garment.

Natural Waist: This is the narrowest part of your torso. Note – this will not necessarily be where the waistline of your garment will sit.

Lower Waist: Measure around the fullest part of your tummy.

Hip/Seat: Place tape at the fullest part of your hips with feet together. This is the best measurement for skirts and pants.

The Megan Hat is our exclusively designed hat and represents the woman it was named for—Mandy’s Mum. Megan was fashionable and full of fight! The Aletheia Megan hat is available in a variety of fabrics and colours and is sure to be both comfortable and flattering in its palette of classic and chic colours.

Breathable and lightweight, this beautiful slouch hat is perfect for all year wear. Choose the fibres you prefer—cooling bamboo, soft viscose, or breathable merino wool. With pin-tucks around the crown to create a slight illusion of fullness, the comfort band frames the face for extra hold and ease of wear. Create your own style with options for wearing–slouched toward the back for a more casual look or pulled down for more coverage.

To ensure the longevity of your garment, wash merino with a wool detergent by hand in cold water or on a gentle machine wash on a wool setting. Bamboo and viscose can be washed with a normal detergent. Do not wring, bleach, or dry clean. Preferably dry flat out of direct sunlight or tumble dry on a cool setting. Steam iron on wool setting, if needed. Airing the garment between wearing extends the life between washes.

      1. Carefully read the eligibility criteria below.
      2. Choose the headwear you wish to purchase and add it to your cart. Choose the “Te Whatu Ora” option for payment at checkout. You will then be contacted by email with the necessary documentation.
      3. Submit your paperwork by email for your free headwear.  (Two pieces of paperwork are required: a Medical Certificate signed by your healthcare professional and a Ministry of Health Hair Wig & Hairpiece Claim Form found here and signed by you. Your order will be dispatched once the required paperwork has been received.)

Eligibility criteria:

  1. You must be a New Zealand citizen or are ordinarily resident in New Zealand
  2. You have a medical condition that has caused you to lose your hair (like treatment for cancer, alopecia or other scalp conditions that cause hair loss).

Your specialist or GP needs to give you a current medical certificate with your NHI number, details of the hair loss condition and whether it is permanent or temporary.
